"Skinijos" began in 1996 with just a few products. Today, we have several thousand, and we still knit them in Lithuania. Creating not only a brand but also owning our own factory is unique in our day and age. We still have sock experts who have been with us since the factory was founded.

We use traditional and modern sock-making materials—from the highest-quality cotton to the finest wool or bamboo fibers. This allows us to create the most effective socks for every season and the widest range of life situations.

The story of Skinija began in 1996 in the newly independent Lithuania. Named after the river, the company not only made its way into Lithuanian homes with its products but also forged a path into the wider world. Starting with just a few sock products, our sock and tights range now includes several thousand items. All this has been achieved thanks to a team, a significant part of which has been working together for over 20 years. We say it boldly – we really know socks.

Our product range is very broad - from extra thick and warm socks to thin and stylish ones. Skinija products and their quality have been appreciated by the armies of various countries, professional athletes, and global fashion representatives. We strive to make Skinija products not only comfortable, durable, and functional, but also stylish. Free imagination, high-quality raw materials, and innovative technologies determine the success of our products. We don't just design socks – we make them.

Although the majority of Skinija's production is exported abroad, we remain the leader in sock and tights manufacturing in Lithuania. Skinija brand products are sold at almost 1000 retail locations, and you can purchase the widest range of our collection in Lithuania's major cities, at SKINIJA BOUTIQUE stores.

More than 60% of Skinija's production is exported. Among the customers are both well-known brands and new names looking for quality and innovative solutions. We manufacture functional socks for the armies of various European countries, professional sports and leisure brands, and clubs. Skinija products are used and appreciated in more than 30 countries worldwide.

Continuous improvement of production processes and technologies, careful selection of raw materials and, most importantly, people and their expertise form the foundation of Skinija products' quality. We are the only sock manufacturer in the country to be assessed against the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and we are certified according to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS). The RWS-certified products contain wool from farms that are (independently) certified according to animal welfare and land management requirements.

“Skinija” products are made from the highest quality raw materials – combed or mercerized cotton, merino or angora wool, silk, linen, modal, viscose, and bamboo viscose. To ensure a variety of products, we use yarns with linear densities ranging from extra-fine 100/1 or 85/2 Nm to extra-thick 5.8/1 or 2.4/1 Nm, resembling chunky knitwear. 

We pay special attention to the improvement of technologies and production processes. Testing new raw materials and their combinations, using specialized knitting equipment, is aimed at creating distinctive designs or unique multi-layer products characterized by ergonomic properties and durability. By continuously investing in production modernization, we can offer high-quality, comfortable, stylish, and innovative products.

The Skinija factory has 150 knitting machines: Lonati, Matec Silver, San Giacomo 6CUS & Fantazia, Busi, Bentley Komet, Nagata, and their needle counts are 36; 44, 48; 60; 84; 92; 112; 120; 124; 132; 144; 156; 160; 168; 176; 184; 200. Only by having an extremely wide variety of equipment can we ensure a broad product range.
